World Test Championship Final: 5 Indian players who might be snapped from playing XI against New Zealand
3) Shardul Thakur
The Mumbaikar had a tough journey till now. He made his debut for India in the T20’s but didn’t have a memorable outing there. But with his skills and abilities, with both bat and ball, he has remained in the Team India squad for some time now. He is known for his death bowling skills and can hit the long ball lower down the order. He currently made the headlines after his match-winning performance only in the 2nd test match of his career at the Gabba, Brisbane.
With India grappling with injuries in the tour, he was included in the final XI. His batting partnership with Washington Sundar in the match still streams fresh in our veins. He also did a decent job with the ball in the absence of India’s experienced bowling attack.
Also, in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, playing for Mumbai, he has shown his batting prowess down the order. However, it might be difficult for him to cut into the final XI with the other major fast bowlers- Bumrah, Ishant, Shami, Siraj and Umesh already holding the incumbencies.
