Tim Southee has been one of the crucial cogs of the New Zealand cricket team. Southee is an intelligent bowler where he knows how to respond to pressure situations by keeping the batsmen in check. Southee has earlier plied his trade for CSK. CSK fans will fondly remember Southee helping CSK beat KKR by 2 runs in IPL 2011 season.
The right-arm fast bowler showed off his death-over bowling skills at the best scene. Southee has played 81 T20Is wherein he took 99 wickets to his name. Southee also has 1 four wicket-haul and 1 five-wicket haul to his credit. As far as his IPL stats are concerned, he played 40 games and took 28 wickets.
He is also a handy batsman who can help add runs by scoring sixes and fours. Southee has a strike rate of 143.1 in T20Is and 127.8 in IPL. The veteran pacer was released by Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2020 season but the pacer didn’t attract interest from any of the teams as he went unsold in the previous season.
