[Watch] Babar Azam loses cool after fans tease him with ‘Zimbabar’ chants

Babar Azam couldn't hold his emotions and reacted angrily.

Peshawar Zalmi skipper Babar Azam was spotted reacting furiously after crowd tease him with ‘Zimbabar’ chants in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) match against Multan Sultans on Friday.

The Pakistani batter is often criticised for failing against the top teams in big events. He is also infamous for bashing associate sides like Zimbabwe, Kenya and Nepal. Hence, a group of fans named him ‘Zimbabar’ and the tag is regularly used by the critics.

Though Babar is a calm figure and doesn’t lose his mind so easily, this time he decided to not hold back. He reacted angrily after a section of crowd teased him with ‘Zimbabar’ chants. He even gestured that he would hit them with water bottle if chants doesn’t stop.

Babar Azam couldn’t do much with the bat

Opting to bat first, In-form Babar Azam had an off-day against Multan Sultans, where he departed after scoring a struggling 31 off 26 deliveries. However, the likes of Haseebullah Khan, Rovman Powell and Luke Wood batted well to take team to a good total of 179.

In reply, the table-toppers got off to a good start despite losing their skipper Mohammad Rizwan for a duck. However, wicket kept on falling from one end and they fall five runs short. Dawid Malan’s 52 off just 25 deliveries went into vain.

With this win, Peshawar Zalmi registered their first win of the season after two consecutive losses. The latest win would give them a lot of confidence ahead of their next clash with Lahore Qalandars on Sunday.

Multan Sultans, on the other hand, continues to atop the points table with three wins after four rounds of play. They will next play Quetta Gladiators at home on Sunday (February 25).
