3 IPL coaches who can replace Rahul Dravid as head coach of Team India

Rahul Dravid's tenure as head coach comes to an end post the T20 World Cup 2024.

Rahul Dravid has been serving as the head coach of Team India since November 2021. The veteran’s contract as chief coach comes to an end post the T20 World Cup 2024. The BCCI will be on the look out for a new head coach in the near future.

Recently, the richest cricket body‘s secretary, Jay Shah, disclosed that the board will be inviting applications for the post of India’s head coach. It remains to be seen who will serve as the new coach of Team India.

However, Shah stated that the current head coach can still re-apply for the role. Under Dravid’s tenure, India were the runners-up in the ICC World Test Championship 2023 and ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023, losing to Australia on both occasions.

The Men in Blue will give their best shot at the T20 World Cup in an attempt to end the ICC title drought. Let’s now take a glimpse at the three IPL coaches who can replace Rahul Dravid as head coach of Team India.

3. Ashish Nehra

Ashish Nehra is one of the candidates BCCI could contemplate appointing him as the head coach of Team India for better results. The former Indian paceman is currently serving as the head coach of Gujarat Titans.

He has been serving as the head coach of the Ahmedabad-based franchise since 2022. Under his tutelage, GT won the trophy in their very first season. He drew plaudits for his hands-on approach and his potential to maintain a positive team environment.

Nehra who possesses a deep understanding of the game often communicates with his players and offers important advice to them in the need of the hour. We have seen more such positive interactions between him and the players in the IPL.
