[WATCH] LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka’s animated chat with KL Rahul after defeat against SRH

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper, KL Rahul, was at the receiving end of an animated chat with the franchise’s owner, Sanjiv Goenka, following a defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Wednesday, May 8.

After winning the toss, LSG decided to bat first, which turned out to be a disastrous decision. They lost early wickets and couldn’t capitalize on the powerplay overs. A steady partnership with Rahul and Krunal Pandya set the tone for Ayush Badoni and Nicholas Pooran to provide the finishing touches.

At the end of the 20 overs, the Lucknow-based franchise got off to a total of 165, which seemed like a below-par score. But little did one know that it would take SRH just 9.4 overs to chase it down.

Once again, the deadly opening duo of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head took onto the bowlers. They smashed 100+ runs in the powerplay and gave no chance to the opposition. While Abhishek remained not out at 75 runs taking 28 deliveries, the Australian opener smashed an unbeaten 89 off just 30 balls.

Post the match, LSG’s owner, Sanjiv Goenka, was seen expressing his disappointment in an expressive way to KL Rahul, who kept his cool. The visuals have gone viral on the internet with many bashing the former for his ill behaviour.

What’s next for KL Rahul & Co.?

LSG’s latest defeat against SRH has obviously hit the net run rate (NRR) negatively. The former side slipped down to the sixth position in the points table. Moreover, they now have a minus nrr of -0.769, which is second most after Gujarat Titans (GT).

KL Rahul & Co. will have to win both of their remaining games to confirm a playoff berth. Their next challenge is against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Tuesday, May 14, at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
