Chennai Super Kings met Gujarat Titans in the 29th match of the IPL 2022 on Sunday evening. It turned out to be a tense contest between the two sides, and the result was decided on the 2nd last delivery of the game.
Tensions ran high on the ground in this close encounter as the coolest of the players could be seen losing their temper. In such an incident, Chennai Super Kings skipper Ravindra Jadeja was fuming at Shivam Dube after the latter didn’t go for a catch.
Earlier, the CSK batted first and posted a below-par total of 169/5 in 20 overs. However, Ruturaj Gaikwad roared back to form with a beautiful knock of 73 runs off 48 runs. Ambati Rayudu also contributed vital 46 runs to take the Super Kings to a respectable total.
Chasing the target, Gujarat Titans got off to the worst possible start as they were reduced to 16/3 in four overs. Wriddhiman Saha and David Miller tried to rebuild the innings, but he also got out trying to up the ante on the final delivery of the 8th delivery.
Gujarat Titans kept losing wickets at one end, but David Miller kept fighting at the other end. He was the player standing between Chennai Super Kings and a win.
Ravindra Jadeja fumes at Shivam Dube
In the 16th over, Dwayne Bravo also outfoxed David Miller as the left-handed southpaw mistimed a pull shot. But the catch could not be taken as Shivam Dube never charged towards the ball in the deep.
Dwayne Bravo was livid with Dube’s lack of effort and demanded Jadeja to change their fielder from that spot straightaway. Moreover, Ravindra Jadeja was fuming with Dube, and he almost threw his cap to the ground.
