Tarun Nethula announced his arrival as a first-class cricketer when he plied his trade for Auckland in 2008. He was born in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. He was only 12 years old when his family shifted to New Zealand.

Playing for Auckland, the leg-spinner achieved profound success when he ended up as the leading wicket-taker in the season with 28 wickets. Tarun had a very short spell with New Zealand cricket team in 2012 as he played only 5 ODIs for them.

Nonetheless, he couldn’t make his presence count on the pitch by taking only 5 wickets at an expressive bowling average of around 50 and an economy rate of 5.65. The 37-year-old’s time has already run out now and may not play for New Zealand cricket again.
