Jeetan Shashi Patel is a former Black Caps’ international cricketer. He was a specialist right-arm off-spin bowler by trait. He currently plies his trade for Wellington in New Zealand and Warwickshire in England. Even though the 40-year-old hails from an Indian family, he was born and brought up in Wellington, New Zealand.

He made a mark for himself by putting consistent performances in First-class cricket early on in his career and rightly so, he earned a call-up to the national side. He played his first One-Day International in August 2005, which is his international debut.

Since then, he represented New Zealand national cricket team in 24 Tests, 43 ODIs and 11 T20Is, taking 65, 49 and 16 wickets respectively. He was known to be one of the best economical bowlers during his playing days. He has 1 five-wicket haul in the longest format of the game.
