Defending champions Multan Sultans off to a winning start to set the tournament going. Opting to bowl first, Multan restricted Karachi to 124 runs. Sharjeel Khan and Babar Azam got their side off to a blazing start before Mohammad Rizwan & Co made a superlative comeback.
Veteran leg-spinner Imran Tahir spun web in the middle-order, returning with figures of 3/16 to contain the flow of runs. Shahnawaz Dahani, who was the highest wicket-taker last season, also chipped in with economical overs.
In reply, Rizwan led his side from the front with an unbeaten half-century. He and Shan Masood gave Multan Sultans a decent start to set the tone.
