SL vs IND: 5 Indian players who might not feature in T20 World Cup 2021
These players have failed to impress the selectors.
3. Ruturaj Gaikwad
Ruturaj Gaikwad drew the attention of the cricket fraternity with his batting exploits in the IPL. When Chennai Super Kings were in bad shape in the IPL 2020 season, Gaikwad scored three back-to-back fifties in the last 3 games of the group stages. It’s because of his efforts, CSK finished just above the bottom-placed Rajasthan Royals.
Impressed by his style of play, the selectors decided to experiment with him on the team’s tour of Sri Lanka. The youngster made his T20I debut in the second T20I. The right-handed batsman managed to score 21 off 18 balls.
It is no secret that Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul and Prithvi Shaw are competing for the two slots in the Indian batting lineup. With the Indian team already having plenty of options, Ruturaj Gaikwad may not be a part of the upcoming edition of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
