Tom Moody like to replace Ravi Shastri as Team India coach after T20 World Cup 2021

Team India also got the better of Australia in Australia not once but twice in the Test series Down Under (in 2018 and 2021). However, the Men in Blue are yet to win a major trophy under Ravi Shastri’s tenure.
India reached the ICC World Cup 2019 semi-final against New Zealand in England. After that, they once again lost to the same opponent in the ICC World Test Championship final in Southampton. Now, Ravi Shastri’s tenure as India’s head coach would come to an end after the end of the T20 World Cup 2021. The tournament kicks off in the UAE and Oman.
Tom Moody to replace Ravi Shastri as India’s head coach: Reports
In a positive development, the current SRH Director of Cricket, Tom Moody, is likely to replace Ravi Shastri as India’s head coach after the end of the T20 World Cup 2021. Earlier, Moody had applied for the India head coach post in 2019. However, BCCI extended Shastri’s tenure at that time.
Moody, the current head coach of SRH from 2013 to 2019 steered SRH to its first maiden IPL title in 2016. “It’s understood by foxsports.com.au the former World Cup-winner and well-travelled coach is eyeing the Indian coaching job, which is set to be vacated by Shastri following the impending T20 World Cup.
Moody, who after a long stint as head coach of the Sunrisers, where together with Warner as his captain led them to glory in 2016. He was replaced by former England coach Trevor Bayliss but later named as the franchise’s director of cricket,” said the report.
“It’s believed the Sunrisers’ owners are influential figures in the BCCI, which could explain the decision to leave Warner out for their past half-a-dozen matches and turn to youth,’’ the report added.
