IPL 2021: 5 unsold players who can be picked later in the tournament
Aaron Finch
Australian captain Aaron Finch has been out of form of late. The right-handed opener registered paltry scores of 1 and 12 in the first two T20Is against New Zealand in overseas conditions. Earlier, he had a disastrous campaign in the Big Bash League. Finch did not cross a 50-run mark throughout the season.
Melbourne Renegades’ captain and opener went through a terrible patch in the BBL this season aggregating just 179 runs with the highest score of 39 and a strike-rate of 119.54. These statistics are pretty much low considering a player of his calibre. Talking about his work front in the Indian Premier League, the 34-year-old was released by Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of the IPL 2021 auction.
The veteran opening batsman had earlier registered himself for a base price of Rs. 1 crore in the auction for the upcoming edition of the IPL. Unfortunately, he went unsold in the auction. He remains one of the most sought-after hitters of the ball in limited-overs cricket. There are chances that he may be picked by any of the IPL franchise later.
