5. Suresh Raina
Suresh Raina was one of the experienced players who went unsold at the mega IPL auction in Bangalore. Raina enrolled himself at the mega auction for his base price of Rs 2 crore. Chennai Super Kings released the veteran southpaw ahead of the auction. Surprisingly, CSK didn’t target the southpaw at the auction.
No franchise showed any interest to recruit him at the auction. Raina was far from being impressive in the last season. He scored just 160 runs at a poor batting average of just 17.77. With Jason Roy not part of the upcoming season, signing Suresh Raina would be a great deal for Gujarat Titans.
Raina was once the leading run-getter in the IPL but was later surpassed by the likes of Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma. Raina scored 5528 runs at an average of 32.5 at a strike rate of 136.7. He slammed 39 fifties and a century to his name.
