Dawid Malan was one of the big players who went unsold at the mega auction in Bangalore. The veteran cricketer was previously ranked first in the ICC T20I batsman rankings. He achieved the highest ever rating in the truncated version of the game.
The 34-year-old registered himself at the auction for his base price of 1.5 crore. Unfortunately, no franchise showed any interest to secure his services. Dawid Malan can be an ideal replacement for Jason Roy for Gujarat Titans in the IPL.
He scored 1239 runs in 36 T20Is for England at an average of 41.3. Malan has a strike rate of 137.2 in T20Is. He played just 1 IPL in his career where he scored 26 runs. Malan played for Punjab Kings before he was ruled out of the second leg due to a six-day quarantine rule.
