While England are up against India in the ODI series, England and Surrey teammates Jason Roy, Reece Topley, and Laurie Evans got together in a revealing conversation with Betway. The English superstars talked about their cricketing inspirations and teammates. It was a fun discussion where the trio revealed the inside track on teammates, including Joe Root, Ollie Pope, and Ben Foakes.

When asked about “who has helped you most with your game?”

Laurie Evans named the former South African batter Hashim Amla. He also added that the South African had a calming influence in the dressing room.

Meanwhile, Jason Roy said he had teammates who definitely helped him 100% on the mental side. He named some great cricketing legends who have represented Surrey, including Kumar Sangakkara, Kevin Pietersen, Hashim Amla, Ricky Ponting, and Graeme Smith.

When asked “Who would you trust with a catch to save your life?”

Jason Roy was quick to name his English teammate Chris Jordan. Laurie Evans then said to Jason Roy that he is also a pretty good fielder. To which Jason humbly replied that he just do his job by taking a catch.

The next question was “Who is the best at the Bleep Test?”

Jason Roy named Arun Harinath in this aspect. He also added that he was unbelievable. He went to on to add “Joe root as well can run for absolute days.”

“Who is always last out of the nets?”

Laurie Evans was quick to name the English wicketkeeper-batter Ben Foakes. Reece Topley agreed and said, “Foaksey 100%. He always comes in for 2nd and 3rd hit”. Topley then also named Ollie Pope as the player to come out last of the nets. He also added that whenever the team is travelling, they have to wait for Ben Foakes and Ollie Pope to wrap it up.

“Who are the best footballers?”

Laurie Evans said “me” but Jason Roy was quick to cut him out in between and added that Evans is a horrendous footballer and a bad mover. Roy then named Ben Foakes as the best footballer and Reece Topley approved by adding that he got the left foot of Robin Van Persie.

“Who wears the most outrageous gear?”

All three players confirmed that there is a lot of variety in the changing room and everyone rocks their outfits. But Laurie Evans then added that Reece would like to put himself on there as well. However, Reece Topley then named Ben Foakes and Laurie Evans added that he hates spending money. Jason Roy further added what annoys him about Ben Foakes is that he is so good looking and then he wears the gears that don’t suit him.

The last question was “Who is the messiest roommate?”

Jason Roy replied that he lived with Ollie Pope once it was difficult to share a room with him. He further described him as a messy puppy. Laurie Evans then added that the English wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings is one of the messiest people he knows.

Meanwhile, Surrey qualified for the knockouts of the English T20 Blast after finishing at the top of the South Group points table. However, the team could not reach the semifinals after losing the quarterfinal to Yorkshire by 1 run.
