Suresh Raina drops major hint on MS Dhoni’s availability for IPL 2025

Suresh Raina reckons MS Dhoni would play the next season of the IPL.

The cricket fraternity were desperately looking for answers from MS Dhoni whether or not he will play the IPL 2024. After winning the title last season, he revealed that he would definitely want to play one more time but that would depends on his body condition.

The senior pro underwent a left knee surgery, which increased hopes of his comeback. Much to the expectations of the fans, he recovered completely before regaining full fitness to make a comeback, this time as a wicketkeeper and not as a captain.

The day when MS Dhoni passed on the captaincy baton on Ruturaj Gaikwad was when the fans were very much convinced that the ongoing season will surely be his swansong. However, Suresh Raina is the only person who thinks otherwise as he feels MS Dhoni will play IPL 2025.

Suresh Raina comments on MS Dhoni’s future

CSK’s leading run-scorer Suresh Raina was asked to shed some light on MS Dhoni’s future during a recent discussion on JioCinema. To which, the Mr. IPL came up a response, which might have probably sent all the CSK fans into a frenzy.

While speaking to the broadcaster, Raina, a close friend of MS Dhoni, replied with one word, “Khelenge” (Translation: Will Play). Raina’s prediction might come true because apart from keeping the wickets, Dhoni hasn’t been working his socks off on the field.

The veteran cricketer has faced only a handful of deliveries down the batting order this season. This is a clear sign that he doesn’t want to push himself too much, in the hope that he can play IPL 2025 but only time will tell the true story.

MS Dhoni scored 59 runs so far at an impressive strike rate of 236. He hogged the limelight recently with his best cameo by smacking 20 off just 4 deliveries wherein he struck a hat-trick of sixes off Hardik Pandya in the El Clasico fixture at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
