IPL 2025: Predicted XI of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for the season

Chennai Super Kings are one of the most successful teams in the history of the Indian Premier League. The Yellow Army has won as many as five titles. They won their first title by beating Mumbai Indians in the 2010 final. They successfully defended the title by beating Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2011 final.

CSK won their third title by beating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2018 final. In the IPL 2021, they got the better of Kolkata Knight Riders to win their 4th title. CSK won their 5th title by beating Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023 final.

The five-time IPL champions purchased as many as seven players on the first day of the IPL 2025 mega auction. The likes of Devon Conway and Ravichandran Ashwin were some of their top buys. Besides that, they also roped in Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad to bolster their spin attack.

On the second day of the auction, the five-time IPL champions focused on uncapped players. CSK do have a strong squad capable of making a potential bid for the 6th title. Under the captaincy of Ruturaj Gaikwad, CSK failed to qualify for the playoffs last season as they finished 5th on the points table.

Openers: Ruturaj Gaikwad (c), Devon Conway

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway are expected to open the innings for the five-time IPL champions going forward in the upcoming season. The right-hand and left-hand combination worked wonders for CSK in the IPL 2023 title-winning campaign as the duo scored plenty of runs. Gaikwad scored 590 runs in 16 games at an average of 42.14, including four half-centuries.

On the other hand, Devon Conway scored 672 runs in the IPL 2023 season at an average of 51.69, including six half-centuries. CSK retained Ruturaj Gaikwad for INR 18 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, while Conway was signed for INR 6.25 crore at the same auction. The duo is expected to lead the batting attack by example in the upcoming season.
