5 Indian T20I cricketers who were overlooked by Indian selectors
3. Khaleel Ahmed
Ever since India’s bowling great Zaheer Khan called it quits from the game, India has been finding a replacement for him. With the emergence of Khaleel Ahmed through the ranks, everyone was convinced that Zaheer Khan’s replacement has been found.
Khaleel is someone who can easily clock in excess of 140 kmph. In fact, he had a pretty good start to his career. But a lack of form saw him out of the World Cup squad. However, a good spell in the IPL helped him retain his place in the T20I squad.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t weave the magic with the ball as he was tonk to all parts of the ground by the opposition batsmen. With an expensive economy rate of 8.82, he was dropped after the T20Is against Bangladesh at home. Meanwhile, India found T Natarajan as the best left-arm fast bowler.
