“He can change the game”- Yuvraj Singh names India’s key player for T20 World Cup 2024
Yuvraj Singh names the Indian star who will be the key for India in T20 World Cup 2024.
ICC Men’s T20 World Cup-winner Yuvraj Singh is pretty much curious to see how the Indian cricket team led by Rohit Sharma will go about their work in the upcoming edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 tournament.
The highly-anticipated event will begin after the conclusion of the cash-rich IPL. The T20 World Cup is slated to be played in the Caribbean islands and the United States of America from June 1 to June 29.
Yuvraj Singh was part of India’s title-winning squad in the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup. The 2011 ODI World Cup winner went on to name Suryakumar Yadav as India’s key player for the main event.
The former Indian cricketer reserved the highest respect for Suryakumar while speaking to the ICC. He added that Surya has the potential to change the complexion of the match in just 15 deliveries, which can amplify India’s success rate.
Suryakumar Yadav is going to be the key for India in T20 World Cup: Yuvraj Singh
“Suryakumar Yadav is India’s key player. Because the way he plays, he can change the complexion of a game in 15 balls. And he is definitely a surety for India to win this T20 World Cup, Surya is going to be the key,” the former Indian cricketer echoed.
Furthermore, he also added that Jasprit Bumrah will also be the key for India as far the bowling department is concerned. T20 World Cup ambassador also reckons that Yuzvendra Chahal might also make a difference since he has been bowling quite well of late.
“I think Jasprit Bumrah is also the key with the bowling and I would like to see a leg-spinner in the squad as well, like Yuzvendra Chahal as he has been bowling really well. But being a batter, I would say Suryakumar Yadav is the key player,” he added.
Suryakumar Yadav has been one of the most successful T20I batters of Team India. Having played 60 games so far, he scored 2141 runs at an average of 45.5, laced with four centuries and 17 fifties at an impressive strike rate of 144.2
