WATCH: Ravi Ashwin and Jimmy Neesham involve in a controversial run out; the third umpire intervenes for the final decision

On Sunday, Ravi Ashwin and Jimmy Neesham were involved in a controversial run out against Lucknow Super Giants. Understanding the value of Neesham’s wicket in the death, the off-spinner tried to sacrifice himself but the third umpire intervened to take the final decision.

Ravi Ashwin was late to leave his crease and Neesham was left stranded in the middle. However, Ravi Ashwin understood the value of the Kiwi all-rounder in the death to score more runs and tried to run toward the bowling end to sacrifice himself.

While in the first instance, it looked like Ravi Ashwin is the one to get out but the third umpire intervened and checked the replays. Later, it was concluded that Jimmy Neesham is the person to lose his wicket.

Ashwin remained unbeaten for 10 runs off 7 deliveries in the end. The off-spinner, meanwhile, had a good game with the ball as he returned with an economical spell of 24/1 in 4 overs.
