Ravichandran Ashwin scored a beautiful half-century while batting at the number three in the game between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals.
The veteran off-spinner was promoted up in the batting order as he walked in to bat at number three after Jos Buttler’s early wicket. R Ashwin took the challenge and counterattacked Delhi Capitals in the powerplay to push the momentum. Moreover, he stitched a vital partnership alongside Devdutt Padikkal to bail the Men in Pink out of trouble.
On Wednesday, Rajasthan Royals are up against Delhi Capitals in the 58th match of the IPL 2022, currently being played at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai. It is a vital game for both sides as Rajasthan Royals are trying to get closer to the playoffs qualification, while Delhi Capitals are trying to stay alive in the competition.
Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant invited Sanju Samson & co. to bat first after winning the toss. His decision soon proved to be a masterstroke as Chetan Sakariya dismissed the dangerous Jos Buttler in the third over. Meanwhile Rajasthan Royals tried to add depth to their batting by sending R Ashwin to bat at number three.

The senior cricketer applied the attacking approach early in his innings. During the middle overs, he churned out singles with an odd boundary. It was a calculated knock from the legendary off-spinner to showcase his batting skills.
Ravichandran Ashwin completed his half-century off 37 deliveries, including four boundaries and two maximums.
