It is a sight to behold when the new ball is swinging both ways to trouble the batters. It is an art of the highest level and the veteran Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the Picasso of it.

Bhuvi returned to his form and looked like a bowler from his past as the right-handed pacer swung the new ball both ways to dismiss three top batters of South Africa in the powerplay.

Currently, India and South Africa are squaring off in the 2nd T20 game of the five-match series at the Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. South African skipper Temba Bavuma won the toss and elected to bowl first. His bowlers backed the decision by producing a top-notch performance.

The Proteas never allowed the Indian batting to flourish as they restricted the home side to a mediocre total of 148/6 in 20 overs. Shreyas Iyer top-scored for the Indian team with 40 runs, while Dinesh Karthik provided the much-needed finishing touches in the end.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar gives India a glimmer of hope

Defending such a low total, Bhuvi started his spell with the new ball by cleaning up the opener Reeza Hendricks in the opening over. His wicket was followed by two massive wickets Dwaine Pretorious and Rassie van der Dussen in the 3rd and the 6th over, respectively.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar controlled the swing beautifully to finish his opening spell with the figures of 10/3 in three overs to give India a chance in the game. However, his efforts were not enough as he didn’t get any support from the other end.

The wicketkeeper-batter Henrich Klaasen exploded for the Proteas as he scored 81 runs off 46 runs to win the match for South Africa. Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar ended a brilliant spell of fast bowling with the figures of 13/4 in 4 overs as he also consumed Wayne Parnell towards the end.

The fans could not stop themselves from admiring the veteran as they took Twitter to express their views.
