MS Dhoni and Pragyan Ojha

MS Dhoni is one of the successful captains in the world. He won every possible trophy as a captain for Team India during his heydays. MS Dhoni is also the only captain to win ICC T20 World Cup, ICC ODI World Cup and ICC Champions Trophy. The cricketing brain made use of the available players to good effect and which is why he was able to win everything.

Captain Cool announced his retirement from international cricket in late August 15, 2020. However, he is still continuing to entertain the fans by playing the Indian Premier League. He is also the second-most successful captain in the history of the IPL. Under his captaincy, CSK won three titles so far.

Last year, CSK failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in history. They finished at the seventh spot in the IPL 2020 points table and nothing worked out for them as they managed to win just 6 games and lost 8 games in the United Arab Emirates. MS Dhoni is currently leading his side in the ongoing edition of the IPL.

Pragyan Ojha reveals why MS Dhoni doesn’t wish his teammates ‘good luck’

CSK strengthened their side in the mini IPL auction. Despite losing their first encounter against Delhi Capitals, CSK defeated Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals in the next two games. So far, so good for CSK who are third in this season’s points table with 2 wins and 1 defeat at a better net run rate of +1.194.

Meanwhile, former Indian spinner Pragyan Ojha opened up the reason why MS Dhoni doesn’t wish his teammates ‘good luck’ or ‘all the best’. Ojha also went on to add why MS Dhoni also stopped wishing the players good luck. The 34-year-old added that whenever CSK captain wished somebody good luck, the result ended up being “very different”. Ojha revealed that this was the main reason why Dhoni stopped the practice.

“MSD will never wish his team members ‘all the best’ or ‘good luck’ before a game. Because he feels, if he wishes somebody quite a few players he has wished during a game, it ended up in a very different way. That’s maybe why he has stopped it,” said Ojha in a chat with Sports Today.

“Once we had a conversation about people having different kinds of sentiments and that’s when he said he never wishes his players before a game. And before the game, none of the players from the opposition to go him. They don’t want any wishes from him,” concluded Ojha.
