8. Pat Cummins
Pat Cummins has been an excellent captain on the international stage. Under his tutelage, Australia retained the Ashes and won the ICC WTC and the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. While he is a proven captaincy material in the international circuit, the same hasn’t been said about in IPL.
He was roped in by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for a record-breaking ₹20.50 crore at the IPL 2024 auction. He replaced Aiden Markram as the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the forthcoming season of the IPL and has a huge responsibility up ahead in the fresh season.
7. Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant steered the Delhi Capitals (DC) to the playoffs in IPL 2021. Although they topped the table, they lacked the teeth to pull off tricks in both playoffs before getting knocked out. In the subsequent season, DC failed to qualify for the playoffs by finishing fifth on the table.
Rishabh Pant who met with a career-threatening car accident in late December 2022 has recovered completely. He is likely to lead the Delhi Capitals in the upcoming season of the IPL and the fans are curiously waiting for him to get back on the field.
