Indeed the biggest name in this list of possible release players. England pacer Jofra Archer is still struggling with injuries and his return is unknown. He even didn’t participate in the World Cup 2023.
MI cannot afford to depend on Archer solely in the bowling department for one more season. Last season their pace bowling took a toll in the absence of both Archer and Jasprit Bumrah.

With Bumrah likely to return in the 2024 season, MI must ensure to provide him a reliable and quality partner. Hence, the Rohit Sharma-led MI might release Archer to sign another pacer with the same money.
