IPL 2024: 3 players Mumbai Indians (MI) might release ahead of auction

Five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) had a dismal performance last season where they merely qualified for the playoffs. In reality, they never seemed like a proper unit as they continued to struggle to put a powerful unit together.

However, they would like to not repeat the same mistake in IPL 2024. With the mini-auction approaching, MI will want to fix the errors in their squad and also form a better commanding unit to regain their domination in the tournament.

In this article, we will look at three names who can be released by Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2024 season.

1) Chris Jordan

Chris Jordan was named as a cover player for injured Jofra Archer last season. MI was hoping to bank on his experience and ability to bowl effective death overs. But the decision turned out a disaster for the side.

Jordan failed miserably to perform up to the standards of the Mumbai-based franchise. In six games, he managed to pick up only three wickets while leaking runs at 10.77. Not the performance the franchise was looking for.

It’s evident that MI would want to release Jordan ahead of next season. They can go into the auction and get another pacer who can do the job efficiently. It remains to be seen if the pacer gets any other team or not at the auction.
