Pacer Mohammed Shami recently made into the headlines for liking a controversial tweet criticising his Indian counterpart and former Indian Premier League (IPL) skipper Hardik Pandya.

Shami, who recently underwent a heel surgery, took it to X (formerly Twitter) to update fans about his recovery. He shared that the stitches have been removed and he has entered into the next stage of recovery. Netizens congratulated him for the positive advancements and expressed eagerness to see him back on the field.

However, a user praised the 33-year-old for playing the World Cup 2023 through pain while criticising another player for faking injury to participate in the IPL 2024. The latter player is speculated to be Hardik Pandya, who hasn’t played for India since October.

“Shami bhai gave his 100 percent even when he was in pain during worldcup, then there is one chapri kalu who shown fake injury to keep himself available for IPL” the user commented.

Surprisingly, Mohammed Shami liked the comment which indirectly took a shot at the Baroda-based all-rounder. It has gone viral on the internet and people are believing a rift between the two players.

Gujarat Titans will be without Mohammed Shami in IPL 2024

Mohammed Shami was ruled out of IPL 2024, giving a massive blow to Gujarat Titans (GT) ahead of the season. The franchise haven’t named a replacement yet but are expected to reveal it soon.

It will be a test for their management and the new skipper, Shubman Gill. With so many chances in the squad, their auction strategy might take a toll. However, they still have quality players in their camp to live up to the expectations.

The Gujarat-based franchise will kick-off their campaign against Mumbai Indians (MI) on March 24, Sunday, at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
