IPL 2022: Dale Steyn jumps out of his seat as Umran Malik castes Shreyas Iyer with a toe-crushing yorker
It is a proper box-office to watch a fiery pace bowler bowling. The entertainment is guaranteed when the bowler clocks somewhere near 150 kph to trouble the batters. In the ongoing game between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders, the fans were treated to a heated battle between young Umran Malik and Shreyas Iyer. While Iyer was trying to disturb the pacer by constantly moving in the crease, the pacer had the last laugh with a scorching yorker to dismiss the batter.
However, what stood out was the reaction of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s bowling coach Dale Steyn who jumped out of his seat after witnessing the wonderful delivery from the youngster. One could understand his joy, given Steyn rates Umran Malik very high in his books.
Cricket fans still remember the sight of Dale Steyn bowling at his prime and bowling those scorching yorkers used to send chills down the spine of the batters. Watching his student follow in his footsteps must have given an immense satisfaction to Dale Steyn.

Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Kane Williamson won the toss and invited Kolkata Knight Riders to bat first. The Sunrisers’ bowlers were right at the money from the start as they reduced the Knight Riders to 31/3 in the 5th over.
The skipper Shreyas Iyer stabilised the innings alongside Nitish Rana for a while and then tried to up the ante. He decided to take on the young Umran Malik, who came to bowl the 10th over. Meanwhile, Iyer tried to confuse the bowler with the continuous movements in the crease. However, Umran Malik kept his cool and fired in a pinpoint yorker to rattle the stumps.
Not only the bowler but Dale Steyn was also pumped after the wicket as the legendary pacer was seen jumping and hugging Muttiah Muralidharan in the dugout.
