This should come as no surprise to cricket fans as Babar’s stocks have risen considerably in the recent times. Recently, former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson picked Babar Azam as the 2nd best batter in the world after Virat Kohli. He rated Babar higher than Steve Smith, Kane Williamson, and Joe Root.

Moreover, Sachin Tendulkar also heaped praises on the Pakistan skipper for his solid display of batting in the recently-concluded home series against Australia. Babar Azam was in a prime touch during the series. He led his side from the front, scoring a mega-hundred in the Test series. Azam also scored back-to-back tons in the ODI series to continue his purple patch.

However, Pakistan could only win the ODI series 2-1 despite the best of the efforts from the skipper. Australia clinched the Test series 1-0, while they also bagged the only T20I game to conclude a successful tour.
