Tushar Deshpande announced his arrival in competitive cricket when he made his first-class debut for Mumbai in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy. The 26-year-old right-arm fast bowler made his List A debut for Mumbai in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
He has played 26 games in first-class cricket where he took 50 wickets to his name. Tushar took 3 five-wicket hauls and maintained an impressive economy of 3.22. He took 1 fifer in List A cricket. Overall, he took 29 wickets in 25 games. As far as his T20 career is concerned, he took 44 wickets in 31 games.
Tushar Deshpande expressed his disappointment after he was not retained by Delhi Capitals ahead of the mega auction. However, Chennai Super Kings roped him in for Rs 20 lakhs on the first day of the mega auction. He played 5 games in IPL where he took 3 wickets to his name.
