IPL 2022: 3 things CSK need to do to qualify for playoffs
2. Drop Chris Jordan and rope in Dwaine Pretorius
Dwaine Pretorius has done well for Chennai Super Kings so far this season. The South African pacer has accounted for four wickets in 2 matches at an economy rate of 7.62. With Pretorius and Bravo among the ranks, CSK’s death bowling looks sorted.
However, the team management dropped the South African for the Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana in the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. While Theekshana should be given a long rope, it should not come at the price of Pretorius. CSK should bench Chris Jordan instead. Jordan is also mainly a death bowler, and CSK needs someone to bowl in the powerplay.
As the tournament is getting ahead, the wickets are getting slower in the IPL. Maheesh could be a fatal weapon on such wickets, and the Sri Lankan mystery bowler also has a knack for picking wickets in the powerplay.
