IPL 2021: Kane Williamson elegantly hits a maximum off Mahipal Lomror

Sunrisers Hyderabad have had countless problems across all departments in the ongoing season of the IPL. They were at the bottom of the points table in the first leg in India. They won just one game in the first leg. However, they had a slight chance of turning things around in the second leg.

But they failed to make their presence count on the pitch. They lost to Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings and eventually lost their plot in their bid to make it to the playoffs. However, all they can do now is to win games and ruin other teams’ journeys. The Sunrisers defeated Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets in their last game.

Rajasthan Royals managed to aggregate 164/5 in their quota of 20 overs. Sanju Samson chipped in with 82 off 57 balls while Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 36 off 23 balls. On the other hand, Sidharth Kaul took 2 wickets to his name for SRH. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Sandeep Sharma took a wicket each.

Mahipal Lomror who chipped in with a useful 29* off 28 balls was brought to deliver the goods with the ball. He bowled 3 overs where he conceded 22 runs and took a wicket for Rajasthan Royals. Meanwhile, Kane Williamson stole the spotlight by smashing a scintillating six off Mahipal Lomror.

The timing was so good and the shot was so classy. Even the commentators ran short of words to describe the shot. SRH might have bid adieu to their plans of playoffs’ qualification but they can at least take some positives from the remaining games of the tournament.

Kane Williamson won the hearts of the fans by scoring 51 off 41 balls including 5 fours. The skipper remained unbeaten till the end and aced the run-chase. Jason Roy who scored 60 off 42 balls including 8 fours and a six was named the Man of the Match. SRH won the game by 7 wickets.
