Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Washington Sundar sustains another hand injury

In the latest development, Sunrisers Hyderabad all-rounder Washington Sundar has picked up yet another injury to his hand. Washington Sundar has played six games for the franchise this season where he has taken 4 wickets to his name.

Apart from that, he scored 63 runs at a strike rate of 185.29. Sundar made a comeback during the game against Gujarat Titans after missing 3 games owing to split webbing in his hand.

In addition, he sustained an injury in the same area while fielding against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday’s encounter. After the unexpected incident, Washington Sundar was not able to bowl even a single delivery during the game against CSK.

Washington Sundar suffers another hand injury

Although he did come down to bat, he lasted only 2 deliveries. His form hasn’t been good either. The SRH franchise will hope that the all-rounder will recover from the injury and get back to his best anytime soon.

SRH head coach Tom Moody explained in detail about Washington Sundar. He said. “It’s very unfortunate that he had a knock on the same hand where he split his webbing. It had healed completely but he re-injured that area, it’s not injured to the point that he needs it re-stitched.

“But unfortunately, it wasn’t in a state were he could bowl. It really did have an impact on for us in that early phase of bowling, given he has such a critical bowler for us.”

Sunrisers Hyderabad lost to Chennai Super Kings by 13 runs. CSK posted 202/2 in their quota of 20 overs with the help of Ruturaj Gaikwad’s 99. In reply, SRH responded with 189/6 in 20 overs and ended up losing the game.

Sunrisers lost the first two games this season but made a sensational turnaround by winning five games on the trot. After that, they lost back-to-back games. They lost to Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings. Currently, SRH are fourth on the IPL points table with 5 wins, and 4 defeats at an NRR of +0.471.
