“Happy Birthday God” – Fans and cricket fraternity come together to wish Sachin Tendulkar on his birthday

India’s one of the most beloved sons; a name that evokes emotions of a billion fans; the man who turned the game of cricket into a religion in India – thou name is Sachin Tendulkar.

Is there a name in the Indian sporting history that hold such enormous love and respect as Sachin? The man who is an emotion himself, the mortal who became a God to many, the living legend who carried Indian cricket and its hopes on his shoulders for more than two decades – Sachin Tendulkar turns 49 on Sunday.

The Master Blaster will ring his birthday bells in the IPL bio-bubble with Mumbai Indians. The team is currently competing in the mega-event and has a game against Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday evening.

However, cricket fans worldwide, alongside the whole cricket fraternity, combined to extend birthday wishes to the legendary batter, Sachin Tendulkar, on his special day. Former cricketers, including Gautam Gambhir, Sir Vivian Richards, and Venkatesh Prasad, alongside current cricketers like Dinesh Karthik and Mayank Agarwal, have wished the outstanding sportsperson on their Twitter handle.

In a career that lasted for 24 years, Sachin Tendulkar represented India in 200 Tests, 463 ODIs, and one T20I game. He has combinedly amassed over 34 thousand runs, including 15921 runs in 200 Tests at an average of 53.79 and 18426 runs in 463 ODIs at an average of 44.83.

In his glorious career, Sachin piled up a total of a hundred centuries – 51 in Tests and 49 in ODIs. The 2011 World Cup winner was no mug with the bowl either, as the little master has 200 wickets against his name. He scalped 46 wickets in the longest format of the game, and managed to clinch 146 wickets in the ODIs.
