“Deepak Chahar doesn’t look good” – CSK head coach Stephen Fleming provides injury update

Deepak Chahar has taken 5 wickets in 8 games for CSK in IPL 2024.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) head coach Stephen Fleming has provided the most recent injury update on Deepak Chahar in a press conference. The chief coach stated that the fast bowler’s injury doesn’t look good at all.

The 31-year-old walked off the field after sustaining an injury while bowling in the recently-concluded game against Punjab Kings at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The right-arm medium paceman opened the proceedings with the ball for CSK.

Soon after bowling the first two deliveries, he pulled up in his bowling stride. The paceman was unable to continue and he had a word with captain Ruturaj Gaikwad before walking off the field. Shardul Thakur was brought into the attack to complete the remaining deliveries.

Deepak Chahar’s form hasn’t been that good this season. Having played 8 games so far, he managed to pick up five wickets to his name at an economy of 8.60. He registered his best bowling figures of 2/28.
