Three things are certain in life – death, taxes, and the RCB choking in the IPL playoffs and never winning an IPL trophy. On Friday, the Bangalore-based franchise crashed out of the Indian Premier League 2022 after losing to Rajasthan Royals in the 2nd Qualifier.

The Royal clash took place in the 2nd Qualifier as Rajasthan Royals were up against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their quest to reach the final of the IPL 2022. While the Royals from the Rajasthan lost the first to Gujarat Titans, the Royals from Bangalore entered the first Qualifier by defeating Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator.

Rajasthan’s skipper Sanju Samson invited RCB to bat first after winning the toss. The Reds never looked in control in the big game as they lost their former skipper Virat Kohli early in the innings. The last game’s hero Rajat Patidar continued his red-hot form with another half-century but he received the minimum support from the other end.

All big guns, including Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, and Dinesh Karthik failed on the big night as RCB posted a below-par total of 157/8 in 20 overs.

Jos Buttler’s century sinks RCB

Chasing the total, the opening duo of Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal came out all guns blazing and smashed the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s bowlers all around the park. Both batters added 61 runs for the first wicket in 5.1 overs.

Once Yashasvi Jaiswal got out, Jos Buttler took the centre stage and controlled the chase with his fluent strokeplay. The RCB were never in the game as the English wicketkeeper-batter completed his 4th century of the season.

In the end, Rajasthan Royals completed the chase with 11 deliveries to spare and seven wickets in hand. They will now face Gujarat Titans in the final of the IPL 2022 on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the fans were unhappy with the RCB and ripped apart the franchise on Twitter.
