The Royal Challengers Bangalore are dealt with a slight blow ahead of the 2nd Qualifier of the Indian Premier League 2022 against Rajasthan Royals as the wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has been fined by the IPL disciplinary committee for breaching the IPL’s code of conduct in the last match against Lucknow Super Giants.

Dinesh Karthik has been a revelation for the Bangalore-based franchise in the finisher’s role. The right-handed batter has been the key factor behind their success this season; hence, he has deservingly earned himself a comeback to the national side.

Meanwhile, the disciplinary committee of the Indian Premier League found the right-handed batter guilty of a foul behavior in the Eliminator against Lucknow Super Giants at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday. The development comes just a few hours ahead of RCB‘s knockout game against Rajasthan Royals.

“Article 2.3 of the IPL code of conduct talks about ‘Use of an audible obscenity during a Match’. It covers the use of words commonly known and understood to be offensive, obscene and/or profane (in any language) and which can be heard by the spectators and/or the viewing public whether by way of the stump microphone or otherwise. This conduct may include, for example, swearing in frustration at one’s own play or fortune.”

Meanwhile, Dinesh Karthik will try to keep his whole focus on the crucial game against Rajasthan Royals. He would like to continue his form as the Tamil Nadu-born cricket has amassed 324 runs in 15 matches at a brilliant strike rate of 187.28.
