Cheteshwar Pujara is the only Indian cricketer from the World Test Championship final squad who did not feature in the Indian Premier League. He was in England during that time and gained valuable experience ahead of the final. Playing for Sussex, he scored 545 runs at an average of 68.12, with three centuries and a fifty.

The veteran batter is the leading run-scorer for Sussex this season, and the second-overall in the table. The experience of playing in the County Championship will be a big boon for Cheteshwar Pujara in the final. It will be easier for him to adapt to the conditions at The Oval, as he has been playing in England in the last few months.

Talking about his record in Tests in England, Pujara has scored 829 runs, with one century and five fifties. He is one of the most successful cricketers against Australia in Test cricket and will be an important player for India in the finals.
