On that note, let’s take a look at the five uncapped players who performed well in the 2023 Indian Premier League, and are ready to shine at the International level for their nations.
1. Jitesh Sharma
Punjab Kings wicket-keeper batter Jitesh Sharma played the role of the finisher for the franchise in the 2023 Indian Premier League. He smashed 309 runs at an average of 23.77, at a brilliant strike rate of 156.06. He was one of Punjab Kings’ best performers this season, finishing as their third-leading run-scorer.
His ability to go after the bowlers from the start proved to be a great asset. Jitesh Sharma smashed 18 fours and as many sixes this year in the Indian Premier League. He did get a fifty this season but played fiery cameos batting in the middle-order for the franchise.
Earlier this year, he received his maiden India call-up for the T20I series against Sri Lanka, owing to an injury to Sanju Samson. Jitesh Sharma did not get an opportunity to play, however, he seems to be ready to make the most of it, when it arises for Team India.
