Watch: Umran Malik bowls the fastest delivery of the season at 154 kph
Over the years, the Indian Premier League has introduced numerous young talents to Indian cricket. The trend has been continued in the IPL 2022, as well as we have already witnessed several young players taking the spotlight.
Youngsters like Tilak Verma, Ayush Badoni, and Abhishek Sharma have already taken centre stage. However, out of all, one name has echoed the most. Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer Umran Malik has taken the IPL by storm. The young pacer from Jammu Kashmir is breaking all the speed barriers in the competition.
Umran has constantly been bowling around 150 kph, and he has been the fastest pacer this season alongside New Zealand’s Lockie Ferguson. However, the youngster added another feather to his cap on Sunday. Umran Malik bowled a 154 kph delivery against Chennai Super Kings, which is also the fastest delivery of the season.
Umran Malik clocks the fastest delivery of the season at 154 kph
Sunrisers Hyderabad are taking on Chennai Super Kings in the 46th match of the IPL 2022. Their skipper Kane Williamson chose to bowl after winning the toss. The decision didn’t flinch the CSK openers as the duo of Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Devon Conway added 182 runs for the first wicket.
Searching for a wicket, Umran Malik came to bowl the 10th over of the Super Kings’ innings. On the 2nd delivery, he registered the fastest speed of the season; he clocked the speed of 154 kph to leave Lockie Ferguson behind on the speedometer.
However, it didn’t turn into the best of the results for the bowler, as the ball went for a boundary after getting an edge of Ruturaj Gaikwad’s bat.
