Gujarat Titans’ batter Sai Sudharsan got out hit-wicket in a heart-breaking manner against Mumbai Indians. The left-handed batter hit his stumps with the bat after losing his balance while trying to play a pull shot off Kieron Pollard.

Mumbai Indians met Gujarat Titans on Friday evening at Brabourne Stadium in the 51st match of the IPL 2022. Hardik Pandya won the toss against his former team and invited them to bat first.

Mumbai Indians’ openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan had a decent outing with the bat as the duo added 74 runs for the first wicket. However, both batters could not continue long before getting out in the forties.

Aussie lad Tim David provided the finishing impetus to Mumbai Indians with a whirlwind knock of unbeaten 44 runs off 21 deliveries. In the end, the five-time champions managed 177/6 in 20 overs.

Gujarat Titans were off to a solid start courtesy of a hundred-run opening partnership between Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill. Once the opposition removed the openers, the onus fell upon Hardik Pandya and Sai Sudharsan to take their team home.

The duo moved ahead swiftly and added 27 runs in three overs to take the Titans close to the target.

On the final delivery of the 16th over, Kieron Pollard bowled a slow-bouncer to outfox the youngster. Sudharsan tried to smack the ball hard on the pull and lost his balance as the ball bounced over the edge. His bottom hand came off the bat handle and Sai Sudharsan broke his stumps with the bat with the momentum.
