There is always a lot of talk about Sanju Samson and his unmatchable talent with the bat. The Kerala batter is regarded as one of the most talented batters in world cricket. But how he hasn’t been able to make it to the highest level still remains one of the biggest mysteries.
On Sunday, Sanju Samson once again forced the fans to scratch their heads with another irresponsible knock and a reckless shot to get out in the final of the Indian Premier League 2022. Samson always baffles the cricket pundits and the fans alike with his nonchalant ability to score runs but he always leaves a lot to desire courtesy of his inconsistency.
On Sunday, Rajasthan Royals are up against Gujarat Titans in the final of the Indian Premier League 2022 at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Gujarat. The Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and decided to bat first in the biggest game of the season.
The opening duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler provided the inaugural season’s champions with a decent start as they both added 31 runs in 4 overs for the first wicket. Once the youngster Jaiswal departed after playing a cameo of 22 runs off 16 deliveries, the onus fell upon Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler to take the Men in Pink forward.
Sanju Samson plays a reckless shot to get out
Jos Buttler alongside his skipper took Rajasthan Royals to 60 runs after 8 overs as Gujarat Titans’ skipper Hardik Pandya called for a strategic timeout.
After the break, Pandya himself came to bowl the 9th over, and Sanju Samson tried to smoke him without properly getting his eye in. In the process, he miscued the shot as the ball went up in the air and he was caught in the circle around the point for 14 runs off 11 deliveries.

Fans were visibly frustrated with Rajasthan’s skipper and they tore him apart for the irresponsible shot and also reminded him why he isn’t a part of the Indian team.
