“Tricky Question” – Sanju Samson on possibility of batting at No.5 in T20 World Cup 2024

Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant are the only two wicketkeepers in the Indian squad.

Indian cricketer Sanju Samson was asked about the possibility of him operating at No.5 for Team India in the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 after Rajasthan Royals’ 1-run defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad last night.

To which, he came up with a perfect response while speaking to Star Sports. He replied by saying that it is a tricky question before adding that the batting position is not at all a concern for him. Samson stated that his focus is entirely on winning the IPL.

“That’s a very tricky question. We definitely were thinking about it; everyone is thinking about the batting positions. Where will Sanju bat. But equally, I feel it is also important for the team that they try to win the IPL. As of now, winning the IPL is more important. The players should focus on that goal only,” the RR captain added.

Rajasthan Royals have been a phenomenal force to be reckoned with in this season’s IPL. The RR captain emphasized that the players should focus on claiming the ultimate prize. RR franchise hasn’t won the title since the inaugural season.
