Sourav Ganguly hasn’t resigned as the BCCI president, confirms Jay Shah

As per the latest developments, the BCCI secretary Jay Shah has not confirmed that Sourav Ganguly has not resigned from his post as the BCCI president.

Although Dada didn’t formally announce his resignation, he has posted a farewell message on his social accounts. In this message, Ganguly has requested his fans to support his new journey. Reportedly, the former Indian batter is likely to enter politics. As soon as he posted the message, the reports of him resigning as the BCCI president were doing rounds.

On Wednesday, Sourav Ganguly shared a cryptic post on his social accounts stating that cricket has given him a lot since he began his career in 1992. He further added that he is planning to start a new chapter in his life and expects to have the same kind of support as he has received throughout his career.

“2022 marks the 30th year since the start of my journey with cricket in 1992. Since then, cricket has given me a lot. Most importantly, it has given me the support of all of you. I want to thank every single person who has been a part of the journey, supported me, and helped me reach where I am today. Today, I am planning to start something that I feel will probably help a lot of people. I hope you continue your support as I enter this chapter of my life,” wrote Sourav Ganguly.

The BCCI secretary Jay Shah has rubbished the reports of the former Indian skipper resigning from his post of the BCCI president. “Sourav Ganguly has not resigned as the president of BCCI,” Shah told ANI.

In 2019, Ganguly was elected as the 39th president of the BCCI. The legendary cricketer was the President of the Cricket Association of Bengal before taking over the charge at the helm of Indian cricket.
