“Best at the moment” – Sourav Ganguly names the best all-rounder in the world

Sourav Ganguly lauds Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja for their work-rate.

Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly reserved the highest respect for Ravindra Jadeja in a recent interview. The all-rounder has long been recognized as a top three-dimensional asset, ticking the boxes in bowling, fielding, and batting respectively.

Having been consistently delivering the goods with multi-skilled abilities in the long run, Ravindra Jadeja cemented his spot across formats. The former BCCI President, who has been following Indian cricket keenly named Jadeja as the best all-rounder at the moment.

While Ravichandran Ashwin has been one of the top contributors, Sourav Ganguly feels Jadeja is a step ahead in the all-rounder bracket. In an interview with RevSports, the former Indian captain heaped praise on Ravichandran Ashwin for taking 500 wickets in Tests.

The Tamil Nadu-born took his 500th wicket by dismissing Zak Crawley in the Ranchi Test. He followed it up with a sensational performance in the second innings of the fourth Test by bagging his 35th fifer, equalling Anil Kumble’s tally of most fifers by an Indian bowler.

Furthermore, he praised Jadeja for his terrific all-round abilities. “All-time great, all-time great offspring. 500 wickets is not a matter of joke. Then you have Jadeja, the best all-rounder at the moment. Bat and ball in these conditions,” Sourav Ganguly told RevSportz.

Ravindra Jadeja also played a crucial role in the ongoing Test series against England. He accounted for 17 dismissals in three innings while also scoring runs when it mattered. Jadeja scored 217 runs across 5 innings including a century at his home ground in the third Test.
