It is true that Moeen Ali failed to operate at the highest level for CSK this season. However, with the playoffs scheduled in Chennai, CSK will hope that they have a spin bowling all-rounder in their arsenal which might do them a world of good.
Mitchell Santner can be an ideal like-for-like replacement for Moeen Ali in the rest of the games. Santner can serve as a handy lower order batsman, smart spinner and a great fielder. He lacked enough game time as he warmed the bench, more often than not. Having played 2 games so far, he has taken 1 wicket with an economy of 8.20.
