England all-rounder Moeen Ali had a pretty decent season for Chennai Super Kings in the last season. The all-rounder has played 15 games for the yellow brigade where he scored 357 runs including 1 fifty. More importantly, he played cameos at the rate of knots where he struck the balls at 137.30.

Besides his attacking exploits with the bat, he was pretty decent with the ball as well. The all-rounder accounted for six dismissals to his name without compromising on his economy rate of 6.35. Moeen Ali was part of CSK’s title-winning campaign. CSK beat KKR in the IPL 2021 final to win their fourth title.

CSK team management were impressed with the all-rounder’s show in the last season. As a result, they decided to retain him ahead of the mega auction for Rs 8 crore. He will be looking forward to showcasing his mettle for CSK in the upcoming season.

Moeen Ali set to miss CSK vs KKR on 26 March

CSK have suffered another big blow ahead of the start of the season as Moeen Ali is set to miss the IPL 2022 opener against KKR due to VISA issue. The England international is facing issues in getting his VISA to fly to India. It is nearly certain that the all-rounder is set to miss the IPL 2022 opener.

“We were expecting Moeen to join us by Monday but because of the delay in issuing a visa, it is not clear when he will leave for Mumbai. He submitted the visa application on February 28, but because of the verification process, there has been a delay. Unless he enters the bubble by Wednesday noon, it won’t be possible for him to play against Kolkata,” CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan told The New Indian Express.

The all-rounder is yet to get a travel clearance from the Indian Commission in the UK even after 20 days of applying for VISAs. In fact, the chances of Moeen Ali playing the first game looks bleak as he had already missed the whole duration of CSK camp in Surat.
