New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson’s performances in the shortest format of the game have deteriorated in the recent past. The veteran cricketer came under fire for his strike rate. Moreover, Kane didn’t play the games with a lot of intent.

Kane Williamson was the captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise last season but there was neither any spark nor any progress in terms of winning games. SRH could only win six games and lose the remaining eight games in the IPL 2022 season.

As a result, the team management released him ahead of the mini-auction. Williamson, who registered his name at the auction for his base price of INR 2 crore, received interest only from Gujarat Titans. The IPL 2022 champions acquired him for his base price. This time around, Kane had to go through a huge pay cut of INR 12 crore.
