4. Mayank Agarwal
Mayank Agarwal was the captain of the Punjab Kings franchise in the last edition of the IPL. In fact, he was retained for a staggering price of INR 14 crore ahead of the IPL 2022 season and there were quite a lot of expectations from him.
Under Mayank Agarwal’s captaincy, Punjab Kings failed to qualify for the playoffs as they ended up finishing sixth in the points table with seven wins and as many defeats in the group stage. PBKS decided to release him ahead of the IPL 2023 mini-auction.
Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise roped in Mayank Agarwal for INR 8.25 crore. Although it is still a big price, the aggressive batsman had to undergo a huge pay cut from his previous season’s salary.
