Australia’s right-arm fast bowler Jhye Richardson hogged the limelight when he was acquired by the Punjab Kings franchise for a staggering price of INR 14 crore from his base price of INR 1.5 crore at the IPL 2021 auction.

The Australian international played only three games for the Mohali-based franchise before opting out of the second phase of the Indian Premier League. The paceman took three wickets for Punjab Kings in the fifteenth edition of the IPL.

He also registered himself at the IPL 2023 mini-auction for his base price of INR 1.5 crore. Mumbai Indians were the only franchise that showed interest in the paceman. MI acquired him for the same price, thus a salary drop of Rs 12.25 crore.
